I've been anxiously awaiting to reveal our very first lookbook to you all, so much so that after the massively long day in the heat of shooting it, exhausted and sleep deprived, I still rushed home to spend the whole evening untill the wee hours of the morning sorting & editing the photos, because I just could not wait untill the next morning!
It's been a while since I've used my camera for an artisitic endeavour such as this, and I must say I was a little nervous that morning, worrying that I would be a bit fumbly and forgetful, but the day couldn't have been more perfect. And has inspired me to make much more of a concious effort this year to remember to take my camera when leaving the house, and plan more fashion shoots for the store & blog.
So here is our Autumn lookbook. We chose to do the photoshoot at a place called Old Sydney Town. I'm sure anyone who has grown up on the Central Coast and perhaps many of you from Sydney will have vague memories of visiting this theme park for a primary school excursion!
Old Sydney Town was a small open air museum, which was opened in 1975 and sadly closed down in 2003. The park was a living tribute to Australia's colonial past. It was built according to a map of Sydney in 1803 and consisted of over 30 authentically reconstructed buildings. There is a beautiful giant windmill, cottages, wagons and wagon wheels, water wells, a jail, court building, church, mill, a lake with a ship, and so much more!
The park has been closed for over 8 years now, all the buildings still remain as they were, but over time they have weathered greatly and the park has an overgrown and eerie feeling to it. We spent the day exploring the whole park, stopping at each different location to take photos. We decided to style the shoot with the more whimsical & dainty vintage garments, as they really suited the location. It was like taking a step back in time, and we really could not have found a more perfect location for our vintage photoshoot!

MENSWEAR
So our Mens range is about to get re-launched! We have been collecting hundreds of sweaters, tee’s, cardi’s, coats and more for a long time now, without selling any of them. I guess mostly because it’s been hot here in Australia but also because we’ve been so focused on our Ladieswear & for this we are sorry!
So let me introduce you to Joe, one of our new models. You’ll be seeing a lot more of him. We know the style of clothing we source for you guys is hard to find, and that’s partly why we all love it. So if nothing more this blog is a pledge… We will regularly re-stock, update and put our attention on making sure our Menswear is awesome. All year round.
Michael.

AFTERNOON DELIGHT
We haven’t posted in a while! but things have been busy here at Oh Deer headquarters, we are so excited to announce that we have a new online boutique store in the works, set to open in March!
This afternoon we ventured to a pretty grassy field for a photoshoot of Michael & I to use for the ‘about us’ section of our new online boutique. It was a race to capture the afternoon light before it disappeared! Here is a silly out-take from in between shots, which we will probably end up using anyway :)
